Default 355 Fuel line replacement. When ??

Hi I have been looking at when the fuel lines should be replaced on my 355. Are the lines date stamped and if so where is the stamp ?. I know new lines are not cheap but looking at a lot of photos of burned out 355's it looks as though the fire starts near the fuel lines !. Also if I ordered new line from Ferrrari would they be old stock but at least they wont have had fuel sat in them !!.

Thanks Jos Just seeing if anyone has an update. I suppose I should have gone back to my old post. I haven't used my car much but it is something on my mind so will try to get it done over the winter/spring.

I have a few pictures from fuel line replacement I did on my 355b a few years ago. You may be aware of this but just in case.

Old and new side by side. a very old recall was on the type of material on the fittings .

The part number is stamped on the end fittings but I do not recall a date.

I had damaged braiding (something else to look out for.

    And a cracked fitting

I would expect that all of this should have been done on any 355 these days, repeated here just in case

The earlier one on the material type:

Thank you Terry. Did you just purchase new factory ones and do they have a new part number to the old ones as they look a different colour !.

I purchased new factory ones from Maranello for piece of mind. If you can find the correct fittings and hose, you could get them made up. Not sure how you would stand insurance wise if one leaked and your car went up in smoke.

The table above shows both pre and post mod part numbers for a two pump early 355. If yours is a later car, upon checking the parts catalogue there is only one part number for each hose so no part changes just pipe routing to be careful with, and o ring seals on the end fitting of course.

Not cheap parts but for a 20 year old car perhaps with the same hoses......

At the very least, I would suggest a thorough inspection.

Thank you Terry. Yes the problem being as you said is that they may be 21 years old now and i think preventative measures far out way what might/could happen !!

I have I think made a list of the lines one of which 75 is not an updated number ! Mine is a 5.2 Motronic with 1 fuel pump.
Diagram Number Quantity Old Number New Number
    56 1 165564 171342
    57 1 165566 171346
    58 6 127816 127816
    66 2 165533 171344
    67 2 165534 171345
75 1 165565 165565 * I may need to check on this one to see if there is an update number.

I think these will be around 1120 !!
